Proper use and maintenance of car airbags
Formerly in the limousine configuration of the airbag, and now in the mid-size sedan, and even economic cars have been generally equipped with. Airbags are usually installed in the car's steering wheel, the dual airbag car also installed in the co-pilot position of the airbag, in addition, some cars also side of the seat side door side of the airbag installed.
As the name implies, the airbag is a car in a violent collision to ensure the safety of occupants when an inflatable airbag, so in the daily safe driving, the airbag will not work.
However, since this is a device that is not always "used", some owners ignore the maintenance of the airbag, causing the airbag to fail to detonate safely or even negatively in case of an emergency. So, how to properly use and maintenance of this security equipment? I interviewed the relevant personnel.
Good maintenance "security"
The airbag is composed of folded airbag bags, inflators, igniters and nitrogen solid particles, and is a disposable product. In the car after the collision detonated, the airbag is no longer a secondary protection capability, so after the explosion must be re-installed a new airbag. Unpunched airbags, if they can carry out effective maintenance, valid for up to ten years.
In the daily driving, the car staff do not arbitrarily beat or impact the location of the installation of airbags, so as not to accidentally detonate the airbag. Also, do not place any objects in front of, over, or around the airbag area, especially sharp or hard objects. Because the airbag inflates, the air pressure is very large - almost instantly crushing a watermelon, so placing items in front of it, above, or around it can cause fatal damage to passengers. In addition, in the car to install CD, VCD, audio and other electronic products, be sure to follow the provisions of automobile manufacturers, can not arbitrarily change the airbag parts and lines, to avoid affecting its normal work.
Observe the warning light
Owners should also observe the daily in the instrument panel on the SRS (airbag) warning light. There is an airbag light on the instrument panel of the vehicle. Under normal circumstances, the ignition switch to ON position, the warning light will be on for about six seconds, self-test, and then off. If the warning light has been lit or flashing, it indicates that the airbag system is faulty, should be immediately repaired in order to avoid security incidents.
